OMG What an awesome superbowl!

What an amazing catch by Tyree, simply brilliant. And how the hell did Manning get it to him? One of the best plays ever. That play alone deserved to win a Superbowl on it's own merits.

Commiserations to the Patriots but the Giants thoroughly deserved that!

Ok I've had my fix of American sports till the next Superbowl :D I'll go back to my rugby league and cricket (aussie sports) now.

Question: Why was it ok to sell unbled meat to a foriegner for them to eat?

hello all... ok, i have a question for any takers: deuteronomy 14:21 says this:.

21 "you must not eat any body [already] dead.

so, it is obvious that this is why they could not eat a animal that they found that had died, say from natural causes.

You're right on the money. This is the very scripture which exposes the serious flaw in the watchtower's blood doctrine.

Unfortunately the watchtower has no answer for this. I researched this thoroughly before I left and the only watchtower article that addresses this scripture actually sidesteps that very question.

If the selling of unbled carcasses that were not killed by humans is ok for Isrealites to do, then that implies a strong distinction between the handling of blood/unbled meat of animals killed by humans and those not killed by humans.

The rule against eating unbled meat of animals not killed by humans clearly falls under the mosaic law. Either that or the god of the old testament is a hypocrite.

marriage and family in the "new system"

my ex came back from the convention and the subject came up of familiy, marriage etc...i asked, how they believe marriage family etc will stand in "paradise"...do they believe earthly marriages will still be valid and mates will still be together, or is that annuled!!

!..also, whether families now will once again be families then..he didnt seem to be sure.. just out of interest, could anybody shed some light on the witness beliefs on this?.

Well, family usually maintain some sort of minimal contact.

As for others, sometimes your paths cross, and dubs have very inquisitive mind. They do ask about you and try to find out information about. I think that's one of the reasons gossip is so abundant in JW communities. They are nosy. I think it's very rare for someone with JW ties to be totally under the radar.

Hey Junction Guy,

Come on man, there are heaps funnier things being said on this forum all the time!

On a serious note, I don't think there's anything wrong with getting even with the watchtower as long as it doesn't rob you of your joy in life.

But as many people say the best revenge is living a great and happy life knowing all those JW's that shun you are stumped and puzzled by how much more fulfilling your life is than theirs.
